“KissNRide” Morning Drop Off Program
The Kiss N' Ride program helps us control traffic on the very busy and narrow Roscomare Road junction, and makes sure your children arrive on campus safely.
The Crossing Guard/Traffic Directors/Volunteer Greeters are rotating parent volunteers following standard instructions. In the pictures below, these volunteers are represented by the orange dots.
For everyone's safety, please follow their directions and do not use your cell phone! Your complete attention is needed for the safety of everyone around.
Playground Parking Passes
Only Kindergarten Parents and special needs parents are issued parking passes to park on the playground due to the supervision or assistance required for these students getting to class. These parents may pass through the Playground Access Gate, and park on the playground where the blue rectangles are pictured below, between 7:45am and 8:10am. The gate is locked promptly at 8:10am.
To avoid your vehicle being locked in the yard, be sure to have your car off the playground by 8:10 am. Other grades can "Kiss N' Ride" through the playground gate, pictured above, or through the main entrance driveway, pictured below.
Pull through the cones and have your child wait in the car until a volunteer greeter, represented by the orange dots in the pictures, opens your car door and helps your children out of the vehicle with their school supplies. When the car door is closed by the volunteer, it is safe for you to drive out of the area.
In the front entrance of school, the driveway is one way.
The left hand lane is a drive through/no stopping lane. The lane closest to the curb is the drop off lane. Enter through the North entrance and exit through the South exit. Crossing Guard/Traffic Directors are represented by the orange dots on the road in the pictures above, and will stop traffic on Roscomare Road to allow you to enter and exit. The orange dots on the building represent curbside volunteer greeters.
There are parking spaces on the public parking lot. Cars are parked two deep, meaning if you are parking, you will be asked to pull in to the front of the space. Do not park if you need to leave in a hurry, as you will be blocked by another vehicle. If you are the second vehicle, please use the dashboard sign below to indicate where you can be located on campus, along with your cell phone number, in case the person you are blocking is needing to leave.
Cars without the dashboard contact sign are subject to be towed at the vehicle owner's expense.
The Ten Commandments of Parking and Carpool Driving
- Plan on using these rules!
- Arriving at school before 8:15 a.m. (for grades 1-5) and by 7:50 a.m. for morning kindergarten students will make life a whole lot easier! DO NOT ARRIVE BEFORE 7:50 a.m. if you are dropping off students. Remember that there is no supervision for any students before 7:50 a.m.
- If you plan to pick up in the afternoon, it is suggested that you arrive before 2:15 p.m. If your plans make it impossible to arrive before this time, you may want to delay your arrival to school until 2:45 p.m. This will greatly reduce your frustration, your wait time and will generally make life a whole lot easier! Children not picked up by 2:50 p.m. will be sent to the supervised playground area.
- A Carpool drop-off lane on the playground is available in the morning from 7:50 a.m. until 8:15 a.m. No parking is allowed on the playground. There is assistance to help students out of the car. DRIVERS: DO NOT GET OUT OF YOUR CAR!
- Do not park in the teachers parking area beyond the gates on the South side of the school or in spaces designated for the Principal, Office Manager, Plant Manager, or other posted information signs.
- Do not park in the BUS ONLY curb area on Roscomare Road. Park north of the posted signs only.
- NEVER STOP OR THINK ABOUT PARKING in Lane #4 in front of the school. This is a drive through lane only. NEVER LEAVE YOUR CAR UNATTENDED IN THE PARKING CIRCLE lanes #1, #2 or #3 during morning drop-off (7:50 to 8:15 a.m.) or afternoon pick-up (2:00 to 3:00 p.m.) If you need to walk your child to or from the school grounds, you must find a stall parking space in front of the school or park on the street.
- If you leave a car unattended in an illegal spot, your license plate number will be noted and you may be subject to towing. Cars not obeying the rules will be restricted from using school property for parking or car pools.
- NEVER park in an identified HANDICAPPED PARKING SPACE unless displaying an appropriate handicapped parking placard. Cars parked illegally in handicapped spaces without appropriate tags are subject to ticketing and possible towing according to the vehicle code of the State of California.
- Courteously follow all traffic instructions from our teachers and volunteer parent traffic directors. They are trying to ensure the safety of your children and maintain organization in the neighborhood.
